VP of Marketing and Communications

Job Description

A well-established consulting firm looking for a versatile marketing leader, storyteller, relationship builder. You will be responsible for developing and leading awareness and perception changing strategy and execution. Support executive and business leadership as a trusted advisor and strategist, leading public relations, analyst/influencer relations, branding and advertising, content marketing, social media, and event strategy.

Ideal individual will be able to work independently as well as serve as a leader of and participant on evolving marketing team. Must be able to confidently and effectively share objectives and plan, and direct the work of specialized marketing programs. A successful track record in the public relations, social media, and communications fields will be key.

Key responsibilities:
- Lead marketing team across PR, AR, Brand/Advertising, Content, and Social Media Set measurable objectives for the communications function
- Aid the COO and marketing in setting enterprise-level communication priorities and ensure successful implementation
- Create media relations campaign strategies and identify media-worthy content opportunities that will further the brand in the industry
- Establish clear and measurable benchmarks/KPIs of cross-channel marketing efforts, as well as necessary reporting capabilities to properly evaluate and communicate progress
- Create an integrated advertising and communications campaign strategy to elevate the brand’s visibility and drive prospective engagement
- Develop/evolve the social media strategy to better engage organic followers and social influencers
- Manage media planning efforts across media partners to maximize advertising spending effectiveness
- Oversee Communications team’s daily activities, including all resources, budgeting, and communications planning
- Implement and adhere to best practice methodologies and cross-departmental collaboration for all enterprise-level initiatives

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, communications, or related discipline; master’s degree preferred
  • 9+ years’ experience in communications and brand leadership or related experience]
  • 9+ years in media relations, brand strategy, social media strategy, content strategy, integrated advertising, media planning
  • Ability to develop strategic marketing plans, translate those plans into executable tactical plans and motivate others to meet/exceed goals.
  • Hands-on corporate public relations experience, ideally within the same or similar industry
  • Understanding of research methodologies, analytic tools, and media/marketing optimization
  • Excellent communication skills, with effectiveness across both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Management of budget and resource allocation to support success and efficiency
  • Creative thinker with a strong entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong management skills and an ability to manage both direct reports and across matrix organizations
  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, cross-functional creative team environment
